An 18th century floor standing longcase regulator movement, the oversize silvered arched dial 34 cm w x 49 cm h, with principal brass seconds hand and subsidiary minutes, hours, day, date, month and polychrome arched moonphase, flanked by engraved figures representing the four seasons, the arch engraved 'Mensis Perpetual Dies', an indistinct nameplate applied over the original engraved signature (previously obliterated), the associated well executed mahogany Chippendale style case of conforming period, 240 cm h o/all, the movement running at time of inspection, the case reduced at the base, for restoration

the dial displaying tarnishing, the original makers signature defaced and plated over (see detail image), the months dial linkage missing from movement, the movement running but unchecked for accuracy, the associated case dull, dirty, some loss to hood top cock-beading, glass cracked, surface scratches and trunk reduced at base level
