The wooden brace across the left front corner (facing) is a painted wooden rail attached by two screws, possibly for hanging/retaining fire tools, easily removed, semi-flexible structure with areas of wire mesh slightly misshaped, and not all vertical rods are perfectly straight either but generally good condition, some tarnishing to brass in places
