A 17th century Welsh oak box settle, the crest rail with lunette carved decoration over further carved panels, unusually centred by a hinged panel folding to form a table top, with iron fork form prop, the shaped arms over a twin hinged plank seat enclosing a storage well, raised on moulded stiles, 194 cm wide x 64 cm x 150 cm h (the seat 47 cm h)
good colour and very original, some evidence of old worm, sturdy and sound overall, evidence of replaced elements, later carving and repairs commensurate with a 300 year old piece of country furniture
