A Japanese Satsuma tea service by Hododa, comprising teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl all with covers and bright gilded dragon finials, spouts and handles, six teacups and six saucers painted with differing designs including blossoming landscapes, cranes and other birds and other intricate floral designs, each piece marked with Shimazu family crest over 保土田 (Hododa) in black and gilt cartouche
Teapot finial has re-glued dragon's mouth, some other small chips to extremities (dragons horns, mouths etc.) some areas of wear to gilding and enamels
